candleing question

How long do I have to wait before I can candle and see little worms in the eggs? First time clutch and super excited about it. Lol. They were born between the 26th and 27th July. Should pip sometime in mid to end of September. There's six eggs and I was able to candle first day but let mama do her thing sense then. I want to check again to make sure non have died but not trying to stress out mama. What's your guys thoughts?

You should be able to candle and start seeing movement three weeks in, perhaps even a little less. It wont look like much but it's still exciting.

I think it takes longer than normal to hatch eggs using maternal incubation.
I think it can be up to thirty days longer to pip.
I could be wrong though.

Yes I'm doing maternal for my first time. It's mama's first clutch as well. I'm going to have to do the towl over mama maneuver so I don't get tagged again so I can candle. Lol. Thanks for answering my questions guys. I'll post pics tonight.

Yes maturnal can take up to 80-85 days to pip. ID try to avoid candeling as much as you can.

If you have a laser pointer turn all lights off and point it at and egg, it should cause the egg to illuminate and allow you to see growth. Plus itll be safe from a distance.
