Is my python stuck in tree from petsmart?
I have a small python and just bought a large bonsi tree from petsmart and I didn't realize that it was hollow all the way to the top well he climbed into it all the way to the top and there is no way to pull him out, I'm worried he is stuck he has been there for 24 hours. If he got up there would he be able to back up and get out? Any tips on how to get him out?

He will most likely be sleeping during the day, and hiding from stress if you just bought him. I would wait until night and see if he comes out. It's very unlikely they he would come out during daytime, especially if he's not used to his new environment.

It's very possible he is stuck, to be honest. Keep a close eye and you may want to aid with gentle soapy water if nothing changes soon.

People here advocate often to avoid aquarium decorations like those... a lot of people buy the token 'skull' decoration which has 2 eyes and a nose available to get stuck in.

    Omg. You didn't.
You bought the HIDEY LOG FROM HELL!

I can't tell you how many people I know of who have bought that damn tree thing and have had the exact same post. All I can say is, get rid of it (when your snake comes out)! It is the worst.

Wait and see if your BP comes out on its own before going into panic mode. It could be stuck, but might just be hiding... hard to say in this situation.

    :(

I just looked at those on PetSmart's web site, they are not appropriate for reptiles. Yes, snakes get stuck in aquarium ornaments. Don't waste your money on them.

If yours hasn't figured out how to get out of it after a few days you'll likely have to destroy it to remove him.

In most cases, if he can go in, he can come out.

To coax him out aswell give him a spritz with cold water, and see if he backs out!!!

Wow... I really hope he comes out on his own. My wife picked one up one time, and being how I am I inspected it and said absolutely not. The problem besides them possibly getting stuck is that they have allot of un-filed edges inside that may not seem sharp but I have been cut by them when rearranging my aquarium. The only decoration I use (that are meant for aquariums) are the cloth leaf plants.

Got him out I had to break part of it to stick my hand up there and eventually I got a small grip on there and after a while of fighting with him I was able to pull him out then i took it out and stuffed the hallow hole with socks so he can't go back up there, I strongly recommend doin this before you put any hollow tree in your snakes cage because it was a pain to get him out
