    Bigger prey
I am looking at my BP and it seems like the small rats are getting too small for her body size. The medium rat is such a big jump from 60 to 120 grams. I'm worried about offering her this larger rat f/t. Will she know if it is too big? Before she starts to eat it.

How much does she weigh and how old is she?

I too just made the switch from small to medium sized rats. Had the same concerns your having. As long as the girth of the rat doesn't exceed that of hers, you should have nothing to worry about.

The girth is fine but she is around 600g. She is about 1yr. She has stopped growing as she had been for months. I don't think she is getting enough. I know the girth is good. (I don't know the sex just picked one)

If you feed a small rat weekly your BP should grow if it doesn't you may want toget a fecal.

600 grams at a year is a VERY good weight also keep in mind that growth does slow down as their metabolism changes.

Struck it coiled it, then let it go and went back in her hide looking out again

Thanks Deborah, I'll leave it with her and feed the small rat tomorrow if she doesn't try to eat it

Moral to the story. Feed my obviously hungry snake :) she knew the medium was too big, I gave her the small one and she grabbed and swallowed in 30 secs
