What's wrong with my ball python?
My ball python gets a stuck shed over the same eye after every shed even though the humidity is 70+%, now that eye looks messed up it is hard to explain it looks like tiny patches of stuck shed over the eye. Lately when I feed him he can't get the rat he strikes near it or hits it but don't bite he'll knock it out of the tongs. Just today when I tried to feed him he got the first rat but then after he ate it he started striking at everything like his water bowl and hide and the tongs when I tried to feed him a second. He just bit his bedding which is paper towels ripped a piece off and wouldn't let go I had to pull it out of his mouth with tongs. What is wrong? Is he blind in the one eye?

Can you get us a nice clear picture of his eye?

The striking but not biting sounds like defensive striking rather than a bad feeding strike - he might be stressed?

Can you run us through your temps and enclosure to see if we can give you more focused advice.

It won't let me attach photos from my gallery but his temps are and average of 80-88 Fahrenheit. Humidity is an average of 65-70%. His tank is 75 gallons which I know is too big I'm getting a smaller one he's been in that tank for about a year but just started this a month ago. I'll see if I can private message the photos to you.

Wow. How do you keep the humidity that high in a tank?

Well I've had various reptiles for a while and some that need serious humidity so I have a little experience with this. In fact I've even helped one of my BPs with shedding on his head and eye. I've used Repti-Shed and this other stuff by Zilla at PETCO that you mix with water. I mixed it with water in a spray bottle (more like a mist bottle) then sprayed him and handled him a bit and while he was squirming away he would brush up against stuff in his home and that was enough to get it removed. I strongly support the shedding aide stuff that is for sale as I've had such good experiences.
