What hides are you using for large adults
My 10 month old has always used half logs as hides but she's getting to big, even for the largest ones sold at the local pet store. These are being placed in an AP cage, so wanting something that's functional, natural looking and nice to look at. Just curious what everyone is using for larger adults. Would appreciate some feedback.

I only have natural hides for my male bp that's in a Proline cage and he fits perfectly on the exo terra large hides he's never outgrown them they also have an extra large size for even bigger snakes all my other snakes are in a rack and get either exo terra hides or reptile basics ones. But here's the link to the hides, hope this is helpful [emoji4]

You could make your own aswell with bowls dipped in coco husk/fiber. Just put a non toxic caulking and let dry for a few days

I dont know about natural looking, but I use plastic hides from Reptile Basics. They're great for adults and they're easy to clean.

+2. That's all I use, and I use about 3 different sizes from new babies to old adults. So much better than those half log hides you get a pet stores.

I make my hides out of bowls you can paint them you can cover them with plants anything I've found for my mid-sized snakes that baby wipe containers work awesome just cut out a door. They are opaque so just paint and cover as you want.

I've started buying/using plastic hanging plant potters for $2 from lowes. I melt out an opening with a soldering iron. They work well for snakes up around the 1300-1600gram mark, then ya have to buy something bigger.

I'm currently experimenting with 6 qt tubs for the bigger guys that are 1600+ and my 6 foot rat snake.

I don't use a hide either, it's really not necessary if you use an enclosed rack system (only open at the front) because basically the entire tub is a hide. If they need to feel more secure they burrow under the newspaper.

For a more naturalistic setting, you can find a plastic storage container with a secure snap on lid that the snake will fit inside, cut an entrance hole in the side and hot glue rocks or wood chips or bark slabs to the outside.
