Bite Club Submission: Arm pit
My young Firefly female named Freya, is the sweetest python in the world. But for some reason, she has it in for my arm pits. Yes, you read correctly, she keeps biting my arm pit. This photo is of the second time she has bit me there. She has never threatened or tried biting me anywhere else. We are always relaxing on my bed, she is in the crook of my arm, and suddenly I feel a quick pain in my arm pit and she is in a defensive pose. I don't get it. I was practically ignoring her, and she bites me. But only my arm pit. Any ideas why she is fixated on that particular body part? She has hit me there twice since I have owned her, only this time her bit left a mark.

Is she telling me I smell bad?

She's telling you to put on more deodorant, maybe? ;)
That is so strange! Kind of cute in a way... the only thing I can think of, is if you are exerting a lot of heat from your arm pits then she's more likely to sense that (within close range) and... I don't know the rest. Very odd. But, sometimes they just do these little weird things for no apparent reason.

"Snake's gunna snake"! :snake:

I would assume its a very warm spot on your body. Doubt its the smell unless you hold F/T under there to warm them...

Wow to understand a snakes mind... You're on the bed relaxing, she's confused and nervous... then an armpit gets bit out of defense. Silly.

Yes, it is a pretty funny situation. And no, I do not warm up f/t mice in my arm pit...that would be soooooo weird. I'm just going to chalk this up to my snake being a silly snake. She must hate my arm pit...or since she bit me there once, she decided it was delicious. She has never bit me in any other situation.
