Greyish rings on BP right eye
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/27/ru4e6aha.jpg
Just today i realized that my bp has this greyish white ring like thing on her eye. Actually it only covers the front and rear regions of her eye, as seen in the picture. Her eye used to be nice and black before. Is this something i need to worry about? The other eye seems perfectly normal. Nice and black.
Other facts.
She is abt 4 months old.
Perfectly healthy except for some mites i see occasionally. (And deal with betadine)
Feeding regularly.
I live in thailand so weather is always optimal.
I see her yawn sometimes, but not too often though.
Feeds once every 5 days.
Last shed about 8-10 days ago.
Thanks so much guys. I've been a lil worried since i noticed it. Any input will be appreciated.
Re: Greyish rings on BP right eye
This may be a shot in the dark and I am unsure of this, but could it perhaps be a retained eyecap seeing as she shed 8-10 days ago? What kind of enclosure is she in? I know you said you live in Thailand, but what is your humidity?
Perhaps you can put her in a damp pillowcase to see if she can rub it off, if it is a retained eyecap.
Re: Greyish rings on BP right eye
Hi,
That is the flexible membrane that joins the spectacle onto the rest of the snakes scales. It doesn't appear ragged ( which would indicate a retained eyecap ) so my guess is it got pulled out during a shed cycle.
I'd just keep an eye on it rather than trying to do anything at this stage.

Re: Greyish rings on BP right eye
Hi guys. Thanks for that info. 3 days in and its the same. No change. I just realized thag based on dr dels description, i did have to open her mouth to remove mood chips that had gotten in her mouth (changes substrate since then). Just worried if in the process this membrance coukd have been displaced. Thanks for all the info either way.
