    Aluminium rat rack.
    Hello,

I have been keeping / breeding rats in normal tubs for about 2-3 years , but with my collection expanding and the more as i learn and work with these animals , i decided that i need to take this to the next level so i decided to make a rat rack but i wanted to make it out a material diferent than wood.
So i decided to made it of aluminium (at home we work with this material , all my snake cages are made of an aluminium structure as well , so i already had a small idea of what to do to make the rack of course i had to ask my mentor(father):gj: to help me with a lot of details regarding the building:P).
    Advantages:
    - it will last a long time.
    - The entire estructure is ligther than a rack made of wood.
    - Easy to clean.
The tubs are vision tubs and the water system i got it from reptile basics.

Looks great. Did you weld the joints or just screw them?

That's the most perfect rack I've ever seen! It looks awesome too!

How much did it cost to make?

Thanks glad you like it., the water system and the tubs i bought them online , since i am from Costa Rica (finally the hobbie is starting to grow) the price of the parts almost duplicates because of the shipping , taxes , etc, adding that the aluminium of the structure i spend about 600 dlls.

awesome build. what's the mesh made of? if aluminum it might be too soft, and you might have trouble with escapes. but otherwise a great diy. congrats on the job well done.

How did you attach the wire mesh to your frame?

    Size of Wire Mesh
What size wire mesh is that? I am looking to do something similar with my new rack and I absolutely love this idea -

Is that a woven wire cloth hardware cloth material - something you may see here: http://www.bwire.com

Let me know what size and what you paid if you can remember....Thnx
