    4.5 meters heat cable
    hello everyone,

I am wondering if the 4.5 meters (25w) zoo med heat cable can with out problems and regulated by a thermostat reach temperatures between the 80 - 95 F. this will be installed under a plastic tub (rack), so will it get hot enough to heat the basking area? if yes, 4.5m will be a little bit too much for what I need leading to my next question… is it ok if the cable touches itself? im asking this because i will probably need to curve the cable and put as much as i can around the basking area and may be parts of the same cable will touch. I hope I am making myself clear.
If you have any tips for installing heat cable please go ahead and let me know anything :) thank you.

    hope you can help me.
thank you all. excellent community. :D

It will actually get hotter than that on the cable itself, but since the cable is pretty small, you'll need to loop it to create an area that is that temperature.

It is better if it does not cross over itself, but it is also not the end of the world. It will definitely create a hot spot though, which could potentially burn your animal, so it's best to try and limit where that happens to a place that is not where the animal can touch it.

    Hope that helps!
