    New to forums
Hey all I'm new to the forums and just wanted to introduce myself. My names Tyler most people call me Ty. I'm 21 and recently purchased a baby ball python from lll reptile so I figured I should join a forum. Her name is kalua. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how haha. I originally put her in a 10 gallon tank but was having humidity issues so I purchased a 26 qt tub.

Welcome Tyler! You've definitely joined the right place, and good on you for making the changes needed already for your new one.

Love the name Kalua too. I think some pictures are in order!.

You can using an imagehost like http://imgur.com/, and copy / paste the Message board forum code. If your on an ipad or such, use tapatalk and you can drag and drop your images directly.

If you *wanted* to use the tank setup you have. You could cover 3/4's of the screen lid with either aluminum foil (cut out holes for any lamps ect), or with Duct tape (again taping off areas, and leaving an area for ventilation). I've done so myself and keep a very stable 55% or so Humidity.

    Thanks for the pictures!

as long as the tub i have set up is correct i have no issues for now, i plan on building a terrarium out of wood and glass doors the one i built held humidity great but when i moved it got destroyed. i do need to probably get some sort of regulator for the uth just to be safe, i did place a decent amount of bedding so its warm but not hot.

Definitely get your hands on a thermostat. I've had heat pads fluctuate in the past at work. They can be very unpredictable even with precautions. Good on you for knowing what you need to do though.

I'd also recommend a digital thermometer / hygrometer. Acurite, buy-able from Walmart make decent ones for under 15 bucks that are fairly accurate. I've had nothing but average results with the analog Zoomed gauges. (I could be wrong, but from the pictures, it's a guess)

Everything else looks spot on. Great job on the hides, and that water dish is slick!

i was actually just at walmart picking up the tub haha i didn't see those there but i will look again. those are the zoomed gauges so good guess, the heating pad is also a zoomed i believe so if those are iffy as well i will switch to a different brand. I try to do as much research as possible before getting something that relies on me to keep it alive but no matter how much you read tribal knowledge from someone is always better in my opinion.

We are all always learning. Every single time I come to these forums I learn something. Which I love!

Zoomed heating pads aren't bad, particularly the smaller ones. Just have to keep your eye on them, like any heating pad really.
