    Burm Breeders in Ohio
Are there any burmese python breeders in Ohio? I've been looking for one with no luck at all. And on a side note, how does the government know if you were to (hypothetically speaking) ship a burmese python out of state?

I can't help on the local breeder.

But they know by opening and inspecting the packages.

Risking a felony charge would be a spectacularly bad idea.

Elyria. And I didn't know they actually checked the packages. I feel stupid now.

    Nice! Another Northeastern Ohioan!

I don't know if you are aware, but once a month there is a local show in Brook Park.

The last one was actually yesterday, I saw a few young burms and retics available. But to be honest I wasn't looking very hard, as I was there for other reasons. Next show is August 24th.

Here is the address: 17250 Hummel Road, Brook Park Ohio, 44142. It costs $4 to get in and its from 10am-3pm. It's at the local UAW hall.

    Hope to see you there!

Don't forget, Ohio's giant snake laws, now have new requirements. Ensure you know these requirements and stick to them to the T. I have seen some breeders offering snakes on Fauna Classifieds for ohio, just need to dig a bit, but they are there.

It worries me about you knowing the legal side of the law for owning these constrictors in Ohio given the "How do they know" question of concern. They are correct in the fact that FWS are opening and inspecting live animal packages. NOW, whether or not they can tell the difference between a Burmese and a ball python is a completely different question but they have the right to decide that. . .

Robyn at SYR will not be a happy camper if their shipping account gets hit because a federal inspection finds a lacy act species inside one of their account shipped boxes :confusd:

How close to Kings Island do you live? They hold the Cin City reptile expo monthly. There is a guy there who comes to every one of them. He is a Burmese breeder.

He could tell you a lot about the restrictions, as well as get you on the right track to ownership. The last time I saw him a baby one bit him lol. He was the least bit concerned though. They can be nippy like most snakes as babies.
