Betty broke loose

A few days ago Betty had had enough of lounging around and so had a nice shed and p00 and decided she'd strike out on her own. No small feat this, as her enclosure was directly underneath a Black Blood's easily twice her weight - not to mention its prodigious bowl of water and about 20lbs more. Somehow she squirmed out without choking herself and slithered down under the lip of the bar and back up into the interior through a space no wider than my knuckle. Finally lucked across her looking where i'd checked before as best I could and where i never thought she'd fit.

Luckily 2 days overdue for chow after a couple hours I managed to attract her attention to a rat and once i had some support for her to crawl down on she came down for dinner. Not easy crouching for 40 minutes arms outstretched supporting a bokken for her to crawl down on in one hand and the tail of a rat in the other hand to keep it on top of the barstool. Glasshopper snatched pebble from hand! After she struck she insisted on eating inverted - but by using my fah superior fist in cookie jar technique (insert kung fu noise here) once she'd eaten I knew she wouldnt make it back in there. I did have to get a hide nearby once she had eased out enough and guide her head into it to convince her it was a better alternative than heading back into the crack (which she was hellbent on doing).

No way she'll fit back in there after this rat.

Congrats on the recovery. Thankfully I have not had any escapee's. (frantically looking for wood to knock on)

Nice find, and great mini-documentary! The Western Digital poster is uber-geeky, though. ;)

Oh my yes - but look at the fugly chipboard it is covering - it's right next to the row of kids computers and left over from back when I used to build left and right - had tons of geeky freebies like that coming in steady.

(Takes one to spot one :P)

Yeah, I noticed the lovely chipboard and can understand that covering it may be the best way to make it part of the decor. It put me in mind of all the posters, pens, pocket screwdrivers, calendars, lapel buttons, etc., that I used to get flung at me by reps at Comdex. BUT I never hung one of the posters. ;)

Congrats on getting that little booger out of her hiding spot! After a meal like that, no way she'll be able to retreat to the depths of chipboardom.
