Should I buy this butter female?
She weighs in at 660 grams and was hatched 2012. Looks like a legit butter to me. He's asking 300 for it, fair price? Also, this would be a craigslist deal, which makes me a little uncomfortable. If I were to buy her, what signs should I look for that something is "wrong" ?

2012 at 600 grams would be a red flag to me that it's a bad eater. 300 is high for craigslist and for that weight. If you go, make it clear you are not committing to buying, just looking. Look at how active it is, does it flick its tongue, does it explore? Look at its body condition, is the skin tight and healthy, does it look 'full' ie is it eating? Does it have blemishes, cuts, spots, or anything to indicate mites or skin problems? One thing you can do is look and poke around at the vent and the little cleft under its chin as mites will hide there.

People knock craigslist but I don't see how they are higher risk than many other channels for buying a snake. Look at it, ask questions, and run away from sketchy responses. Make sure to quarantine and you should be all set. Good luck!

She is pretty but an expo could reveal butter/lesser's at around $100. Thats what i am seeing in my area. Even if you searched online from professional breeders and had to pay $50 for shipping your still looking at your choice of a butter/lesser and at half the cost. My two cents.

    She is Skinny...

I have pewter witch is extreme pretty but very small late 2011 and eat when She wants.. She will probably will not be ready for this season (I didn't break 1000g yet).. I wondering If some Dwarf gene is not playing role there... But I will keep her even if I will never Breed here Just because how Pretty She is...

But 300 for 660g Gram Butter Female of Craighlist ... NO WAY
You can get late 2013 early 2014 double genes Female for 300 if You look on Fauna or Kingsnake good enough.

I dont think Butter lessers are 100$... Reasonable offers, You could likley get her for 200-250! Which i think is a decent deal, And if shes pickey try getting her on ASF's Honestly tho they are smaller then hooded rats, snakes gobble them up and never miss a meal, I am considering starting 1-2 colonys of them!

Thanks everybody for the advice! I was hoping you guys would say 200 haha, I got my male for 150, I know females are higher cost, glad it's not by much.
If this ones a picky eater I will try some methods that I use with my current butter. When he was being picky I put a live mouse next to his cage for three hours. Never had a problem since, once he's in the feeder cage he's ready!

African Soft Fur rats...I believe they are one of the BP's natural prey items so that is why they make good feeders.

Has the seller even tried to convert her to rats? Because while she may not be eating more than 2-3 mice per week now, once she gets to breeding size she could take 7-8 per week, and thad adds up fast.

Personally I would pass, a friend just got a female early 2013 lesser for $150 (local cash sale), she's just started taking small rats and is growing fast. You can do much better for $300.
