Using a blanket as a hide
So i had a thought, if bps like hides that are snug and warm, and i know my girl loves to snuggle under my blanket, so could you use a small scrap of soft blanket as a hide? Itd help keep warm too and you could dampen it a bit during shed.

I really wouldn't do that because when the snake defecates and urinates on that little scrap of blanket it is going to stink and harbor all kinds of bacteria.

when they get something like a rat or a piece of fabric into their mouth deep enough, there is a point of no return because of the teeth pointing backwards. they cannot spit it out again because its stuck to the teeth, and are left with the options to do nothing or to continue swallowing.
with paper towels, newspaper or sphagnum moss its no big deal because they can tear the paper and its no problem when they eat some paper or sphagnum moss.
Very good point. I didn't even think of that. It was way to early in the morning when I responded to this thread.

It also wont help keep them warm, remember they are ectotherms. They would need to be producing heat for the blanket to trap if it was going to keep them warm.
