    I keep getting different opinions on plugging a thermostat into a surge protector or into the wall...whats your guys thoughts?thanks

    I have "dirty" power so all appliances are on a surge protector.

    I have heard you need to plug them directly into the wall (I think it might have even been from the manual) but I am not sure of you actually have to or not.

    My thermostat is just fine on my surge protector, and I have two heat mats plugged up to it.

    I have everything plugged into a surge protector because surges go through my neighborhood all the time. Everything will just turn off & one in the house so I'm pretty sure my thermostats would be blown up if I didn't have them plugged into a surge protector.
