Do your ball pythons still ball?
I was thinking about this as I was watching various youtube snake videos -

Do snakes you've had for a while/aren't hatchlings still defensively ball up?

A couple of mine do. It's just how they are I guess.

None of mine do. They climb all over me.

Mine does on occasion. Especially if I try and check her in the afternoon.

It occurred to me I should probably answer my own question.

One of my two defensively balls up when I'm opening his tub. Once I touch him though he uncoils and neither one of them balls up except the 'trying to fit in a tiny space' sort.

Neither of them have ever balled up while being handled. Granted, neither was a hatchling when I got them, which seems to be when most snakes do it.

My girl is still pretty young and doesnt ball unless shes squeezing into her hide. Even if i frighten her accidentally she only tuck her head under, once she knows its me she relaxes lol in fact the only time she ever balled since ive had her is when i very first held her. Even when i opened the box she was brought home in she didnt ball. I guess some arent as nervous as others

Mine has never balled up while being handled since I've had him. He is constantly on the move, albeit slowly, lol.

I have a Het pied female that is almost 900g that balls up. She has a very shy personality though compared to the others. It's kinda cute.
