    Aspen in bulk?
Im sorry if this has been asked before but I could find the answer on here. Does anyone have a suggestion for where I can get aspen in bulk? I'm thinking about switching over from newspaper but would much rather buy larger qualities than get the smaller bags at the pet store.

How much bulk are we talking? If you plan on filling a shed with aspen then you could probably go straight to a lab supply company like Harlan and see what they can offer you. If you just want to buy a few bags at at time try contacting a local university or research facility and seeing if they will let you piggy back on their shopping list because places like Harlan have minimum order requirements.

I'll have to try that. I don't have a shed to fill, but the pet store near me only carries the mid-size bags that would last two changes for each of my snakes. Maybe. So I was just hoping someone could point me to where I could buy something a little more substantial. There's a little mom and pop type place near my folks that carries larger quantities but I wasn't sure if I could get a better deal online somewhere.

Reptile expos typically have large bags/bails of aspen from Harland Teklad for around $20. I think they are 4 cu. ft. bags.

I got a 4cu foot bag at tractor supply store for like $15 I think. I got it back in may and have only used like maybe 1/5 of the bag and I have 14 balls. It's in the small animals section. It's like the curls of Aspen too not the little shreds or chips, I like it a lot. I used newspaper before and while newspaper worked and was free, I like the looks of the Aspen a lot more and it has some benefits so that minimum cost is justified for me. I'd imagine that one bag will last me at least 6 months.

I got 2 bags of the apen today from tractor supply. I think i could cover the floor of the house with that much but the store is out of the way, in the next state, and i dont have to go back for a long time to get more, especially with only having 2 snakes.

So i bought 8 cubic feet for the around as the same price, about $22+ tax, as a large bag of the snake aspen from the chain store which is only 24 quarts i think. The bulk from TS is i think alittle more dusty but i don't care.

Here is a pic of what is left of the chain store next to the 2 bags from tractor supply. The bulk bags are compressed.

Yea it sucks they don't do internet orders. I am in between 2 stores, each about 30-40 miles away. I happened to be near one today.
I really only have one thing against my state,Ga, and that is I can not own a indigo or any indigenous even if it is a morph/ captive bred.
