Now what??

So my bp was bitten by one of the mice he ate last Saturday. The wound is looking good and I could tell he was getting hungry as he started poking his head out of his hide to look around (he usually does this around feeding day). I go and get him a mouse, put it in and what does he do?? NOTHING!! He keeps checking it out and scenting the air but is refusing to strike! Now what? Do I wait a few days and try again?

If your snake has been eating well and there is no weight concern I would wait until the next feeding day. It will not hurt him at all to skip a week. He may be a bit scared for now, but a hungry snake is an aggressive snake!!

How long have you had him?
Do you handle him frequently?

I've had him since May and ya. I normally handle him every night except after feeding...

IMO, I would keep your same schedule. If you handle him daily, keep handling him. Just wait until feeding day and don't handle him for about 24 hours prior to feeding. If he is scared of a live being attacking him, this may get him beyond that fear when he is handled without harm.
I'm sure others will tell you to leave him alone until he eats. I'm just telling you another scenario.
