    Pastave x pewter
I'll be picking up a 900g pastave male and a 2008 proven breeder pewter female in the next little while. I really like mojave morphs and am considering pairing them up in the fall. I love the look of some of the possible outcomes. Was wondering if $550 seems like a fair price for the pair? I'm just getting back into balls and the prices are crazy different from what I remember. I remember paying $400 for a baby pastel male and thinking it was a steal.

I would expect to pay at least that for just the female in today's market - found one on Fauna for $650. Are you sure the seller is legit?

That seems a little too good to be true. Definitely tread carefully and try to look up any reviews or info on the breeder. If it's legit, you're getting a heck of a deal.

The breeder is local so I'll be going to pick them up myself. The male was listed at $175 and she hadn't posted the female yet I just asked if she had and available girls and she offered a price for the pair. No idea what she would have listed just the female for. Apparently she's 1600g and just laid a clutch of five.

I would find out how many clutches the female has produced - she laid this year, did she lay last year and the year before? Eventually the girls do take a year off so the breeder may be figuring that the female isn't likely to go next season if she's laid three years in a row.

The breeder may also be replacing the female with a 3-gene female, or with a pewter that lays bigger clutches.

Otherwise the seller may also be discounting heavily since you're paying cash and picking up the snakes, so there are no worries about a chargeback, fake money orders, shipping snafus, etc.

Obviously check for RI's and mites, but if the critters are healthy I would do this deal.

Awesome. I'll get more info but if it all checks out I'll go ahead with the purchase.
