Unusual boa behavior?

I have a juvenile BCI male. And a couple concerns with him. I just got him free of mites to start with. But now he never stops basking. On his warm side he had a branch he can hide under to be on the heat pad. He also has a bulb during the day. And If he's in the cage he's always on the log basking, I thought it was strange because they're nocturnal so the only heat he really needs is his belly heat to digest. But he seems fairly active during the day. And rarely lays on the pad if ever. Just basks. Is he going to overheat himself? On closer inspection some of his white scales have a pink-ish tint. But I don't think he would be shedding so soon, he just shed a little over a month ago? And his eyes haven't blued or his color dulled, just the pink?He's not my first snake, but he is the first boa so just want to know if this is ok. He's been eating fine and putting on weight. Humidity is always nice and high. I'm not sure what's wrong, if anything? Thanks.

Snakes won't generally stay in one spot and overheat themselves. Having said that, they can sometimes forego comfort for security. What is your set up like? What are your temps set at (warm, cool, and ambient)? How are you heating and how is that heat being controlled? What is the humidity at? Pictures will help. We can help you better if we have actual facts, pictures, and numbers to work with!! :gj:

He has a hide on the warm end and cold. He has a silk plant and lots of moss on aspen. And a large enough water dish on the cool end. The basking spot hits almost 90. And his heat pad is on a thermostat to regulate at 85. Ambient on the cool end is always around 75. He hides in the plant (in the middle), under the log(hot end) and in his rock hide (cool end) so he has three different temp hides to feel secure anywhere. But he chooses the top of the log. The tank is sprayed at least twice a day to maintain at least a 65-70% humidity all the time. I'll take some pictures.
