    lights......necessary?
I currently have a 40gal breeder with one regular in it. I am going to be buying either a spider or a yellow ghost tomorrow depending on the results after my regular is sexed tomorrow. My current set up consists of a UTH attached to an zoo med thermostat so that the temperature inside of the hiding spot is 95F. I have a dual dome zoo med light fixture with a 60W night and day bulb. The ambient temperatures for the tank is ~85F on the warm side and then ~75F on the cool side. I stopped using the nighttime bulb all together and I was wondering if it would be alright to stop using the lights all together during the summer months and stick to the UTH until the winter?

You can use belly heat year round. BPs dont need any special light. Temps are just a bit off. The ambient temp is ok but hot spot should be around 90 and the cool side about 82.
