    Is it hurtful to breed a female that is the right size but has been off feed?

    I have never had much luck getting eggs from girls like that...It does happen though...

    I usually just check for follicles a little more often and if nothing happens after a few months I give up until they start eating again...

    Sometimes adding the male can get them eating again.

    Ok thanks. So there is no harm to the female? I always thought they needed to "bulk up" for breeding season.
