BTS Names!

Hi all,

So I am about to embark on a new journey... one involving a blue tongued skink! I have never had a lizard before, just the snakes. Thought it was time to try something a bit different http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/ima...lies/smile.gif
I have everything all set up and will be meeting with a Canadian breeder in a couple of weeks.. EEK! -- He's been fantastic, by the way. Even gave me a call yesterday to confirm some things and we had a nice long chat.

So, I am trying to figure out what name I'd like for my skink! I won't know if it's male or female, nor does it matter.
I really like unique names, and want the skink's to sound different from my snakes: Sydney and Beau.
My thinking is that I'd be super original (not) and use a colour of blue as a name; hence "blue tongued skink" http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/ima...ilies/wink.gif

Please vote on your favourite! Also note: the last two names are not a colour of blue, I just like them :P

I'll put in a suggestion for Azrael. Why? Because that's the name of Gargamels cat who is always trying to catch smurfs to eat. I would imagine that if he were ever successful it would turn his tongue blue... :D

(when I used to have a blue tongue skink I would tell people that his tongue was blue because of his diet of smurfs.)

HAHA what a cute idea! ;) I'm not too familiar with the Smurfs, but I do know of them. Thanks!

You missed a couple neat blue names... Cobalt and Lapis. Cobalt is often used in ceramics to make blue glazes and Lapis is a very ancient substance used for jewelry and to make blue pigments.

Will you know the gender of the BTS? I think Lapis would be a great female name...but not so much for a male. :P

I've been considering getting a BTS myself, I'll be curious to follow how you do with yours.

They are near impossible to sex as babies, as they reach adulthood you can start tl make educated "guesses" based on build and head shape. You will know if you have a male once you start finding sperm plugs.

I have decided: the vote gets it. It's AZURE! :)

That's cute!!

I think I'll name my next one Booger. Because it is also cute (but much less desirable than a pancake in real life).
