Switching to F/t

How long does it take for them to finally switch? I have only fed live, closely supervised, but it is more economical to do f/t. Also are there any tips or tricks to it? I have one BP that is my "garbage disposal" he will eat anything as long as its warm. I just lay the rat in his tub and walk away... The other 4 are not too keen on the fact that I changed it on them.. Any and all help is appreciated :)

As long as the prey is warm enough and presented in the manner preferred (zombie dance, hung, left, etc.) the snake should continue to take f/t.

I use hot water to get the prey hot enough. You want to present the prey as close to live as possible. A mouse has a body temp around 100 so having it a bit warmer then that is great. They start to cool quick so I always feed the more picky snakes first so they get the prey at is warmest.

Patience is a big key. Both as you are dangling a rat in their face hoping they'll take it, and also in not giving up after the first attempt fails.

I think the most important thing is to make the sure the head of the prey item is warm enough. Lots of people have had good success by blasting the head with a blow dryer just before offering it. I've had great success by dipping the head in VERY hot water and then offering it to the snake. Lots of BPs will take it off the floor of the cage, but some need you to do the "zombie rat dance", especially while you are converting them.
