    Slow swallowing Ball Python?
Hey guys, quick question regarding my Spider ball. She is about 11 months old, and grows at a steady pace.
My question is regarding her eating, she has no problem finding and constricting her rats. Sometimes she takes a while to swallow her rat after its dead. i would say roughly 15-20 minutes, this is not including the constricting process. Has anyone experienced this before with spiders or any ball ? She has a bit of a wobble but nothing thats ever held her back, more of an excitement thing when she's exploring in her rack.

    Hi,

I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as she gets there in the end. :)

Del is right. It's nothing to worry about. She might be a slow eater. My nature center has a bp that takes 10-20 minutes to swallow a mouse.

That's my pied girl. I feed her first and she finishes last after the other 25...

Yep, it happens. If you've recently upped the size of the rat then that could be why as well :)
Or, sometimes they just take their time.

I have one that, after constricting & letting go, sometimes nuzzles his rat for just about forever before he decides to actually open his mouth and eat it. Nothing to worry about.
