Looking to add some new breeders
    Hi guys,

I am just looking to add a couple more bps to my collection and am looking for some suggestions on which direction I should head in. I correctly have a super pastel female, a Mojave female and a bumble bee male.

I am really looking to add probably 3
More snakes (1 male, 2 females). I really like the queenbee/killerbee morphs, but they are the only ones I have really paid attention too. So if you guys could give me some ideas of things that go well with the bees that would be awesome! Or if it is something completely in the other direction id like to hear any and all suggestions!

My price range is probably around $500 per snake. I appreciate any help that can be given!

    Thanks!

Breed the Bumblebee to the Mojave, then the other options are wide open. If you aren't planning on breeding the new girls this season, then breed the Bumblebee to the Super Pastel, don't buy a male this year, add his budgeted money to your females' budget, and get some better girls this year and buy the male next year so that he is mature at the same time as the new girls. I would recommend Fire, Leopard, Mystic, and Orangebelly.

I do plan on breeding the male to both females this year. So your saying buy 2 of the females right now and than wait til next year for the males?

Yes. If you buy hatchling females, they'll take about 2 years to be big enough to breed. A male takes about 1 year to be big enough to breed. So, unless you want to breed the new male to your existing females, then he'll end up not being used for a year. I would breed your Bumblebee to both the Mojave and the Super Pastel this season and next, allowing the females you get now and the new male you get next year to get big enough to breed. From the Bumblebee to the Mojave, you can produce normals, Pastels, Mojaves, Spiders, Bumblebees, Pastaves, Mojave Spiders, and Mojave Bumblebees. From the Super Pastel to the Bumblebee, you can produce Pastels, Bumblebees, Super Pastels, and Killer Bees (Super Pastel Spiders). If you produce a male Mojave Bumblebee or Killer Bee, you could replace your Bumblebee with that and not have to buy the male next year.

How many females to a male would you recommend? I think that sounds like a good idea, but which females would you recommend me getting now to go with either the females I have or the killer bee / Mojave bumblebee?

Enchi, Fire, and Leopard are good genes to add to a collection. Maybe look at a clown male/female to add some recessives to the collection as well.

You said that originally you wanted to add 3 snakes at no more than $500 a snake, so I'll assume you are working with a $1,500 budget. I would add 2 females. Look at a Fire Enchi, Mystic Enchi, Mystic Fire, Leopard Fire, Cong Fire, Mystic Cinnamon, Fire Cinnamon, Leopard Pinstripe, and Mystic Pinstripe.

As for where to buy, www.kingsnake.com isn't bad, I have bought a couple there. I have been buying more at local shows (the Repticon series). Some big name breeders that I would buy from are Justin Kobylka, Colin Weaver (East Coast Reptile Breeders), Brandt Rustich (Major League Reptiles), and Jon Courtney (Cold Blooded Addiction). A number of the members here also breed and sell, such as Deborah Stewart. I also have some animals available and will be having more hatch starting in the middle of July. If you are interested in buying from a member here, just make sure to private message them or contact them through their website/Facebook page.

Lesser female, pastel female, or lesser pastel female will get you to those queen bees and killer queen bees
