    Hatchling feeding issues
We purchased a hatchling a few weeks ago. He was shipped out on his normal feed day so he missed that week's feed. Tried to feed him the next week and he didn't take it (he struck once but missed or it was a defensive strike) He is still very skiddish and seemed scared of f/t mouse.
His temps and humidity are good. He is living in a 6qt sterilite tub
Since he is a hatchling (hatched 5/15) how long is it ok for him to go without food? Should I just give him a few more weeks to settle in? Pretty sure he was eating live at the breeder, and am willing to give that a shot if nothing else works!

I would give it a few days to a week, and then try a live hopper mouse. If he takes that, give him another 4-5 days later. Keep that up for a little while, then try to transition him to f/t. Once hatchlings get eating, they seem to be happy eating pretty much anything. That would also be a good time to switch to rats if you plan to. Just substitute f/t mice for f/t rat pups. If he hesitates with the rat pup, you can scent it with mouse bedding...

I'm also having a struggle with a hatchling but i'm in the UK and I don't think live prey is really done here. Has been 2 weeks since I got him with not even a whiff of interest in food. He only weighs 70g so i'm worried he is going to fade away!

Had it eaten well for him? Sometimes it takes a bit to switch from live to f/t

Given the timeline the OP described I was actually wondering how many meals it had taken before being shipped.

Hatched on 05/15, first feed should have been 10-14 days later but the OP said it was bought/shipped a few weeks ago. OP can you clarify when it was shipped to you?

I also agree with offering live mouse hoppers until it is feeding consistently.

I was wondering about the number of meals as well, just did not know how to word it. My thought with that time frame is that its a real possibility that the hatchling did not have any meals yet. Best case scenario maybe one or two meals.
