Possible shed or Something else? please help.
I noticed my python "periscoping" a lot while peeking out of his hide and acting kind of unsual so I decided to check on him. As I was checking him over, I noticed what looked like either light brown or light pink near the end of his tail. its barely noticeable but enough to worry me. The nearest snake vet is 3 hours away. He keeps popping his head in and out of his hide, keeping his head up for 20-30 min at a time, constantly moving somehow He was last fed Monday. Anyone elses python do this? I don't believe his head has touched the aspen more than 5 mins in the last 5-6 hours. I tried to get pics but the camera couldn't get a good enough pic.

Is he trying to climb out the enclosure/escape or is he just periscoping all over the enclosure? Is he new to you? And as usual, hows the husbandry? When I got my adult pastel a few years ago, he would periscope all the time. I mean all the time. It concerned me a bit. He got over it and stopped doing it. It's just their way of surveying their surrounding. Hope that helps.

He Tries to get out every night but today he is trying during the daytime. He is very active right now like he normally is at night. I have had him for about 2 weeks.

& the husbandry I believe is okay. The humidity stays (unsteadily) between 50-80%. I use aspen beddings, 2 hides, water dish

Sounds about right. In general, a hiding snake is a happy snake so if he is out of the enclosure often during the day, something is up. Hunger, hot spot, or any of many other scenarios. How do you moniter your temps? How often do you feed (or have attempted to feed)? Is there a female snake in the room? Is the room quiet or heavy traffic? Since he is new to you, he may just be getting used to his me place. Like I said, mine did it for a while, and still does at times, but the frequency has gone down. Good luck. Pictures would be great, by the way.
