Ball Python Saliva ( Need Some Really Helpful Advice Please )
Hi everyone. I have two ball pythons that are healthy, eating well and active. When i opened their mouth today i can see some saliva, mind you there isnt any dripping or anything out of control but i do see some. Do i need to take action and get a fogger and F10 to treath them? If so Where can i buy the cheapest f10 product. I live in Toronto, Canada. Your advice is greatly appreciated. ( this is really important to me and i would love responses ASAP )
    Thank you !

Here's my first question: why open their mouths if they are acting and eating as normal? If you have veterinary training that's one thing, but if you're doing it on your own, without vet guidance, then don't. You'll be able to tell if something is wrong with their mouths, trust me.

as long as they aren't drooling, yawning overly frequently, or behaving otherwise strangely, I wouldn't jump the gun yet. Buying it might not be a bad idea, so you're prepared if your animals do develop an RI, but, If it ain't broke, dont fix it.

I check up on them once in a while....... I think thats good actually, I see nothing wrong in it and i see nothing wrong in being concerned about my snakes. The fact that when I see breeders open their snakes mouth on youtube videos i see little to none saliva. When I open my snakes mouth they have some at the back of their throat. I want to make sure I invested a lot of money into these and im being cautious. Thanks.

With no signs of an RI I don't see the issue.

It may also be water that works its way back up when you handle them. This will be clear with a consistency between water and mucus. I have been drooled on with this many times.

Without a reason I don't open my snakes mouth. I don't see the need for it.

If you paid a lot of money for them, you think you'd refrain from doing something that could do more harm than good. Unless I was instructed to deliver medicine orally by my vet, there's no way I'd risk a dislocation just to take a peek. That's what the vet is for.

But to each their own, I guess.

Stop prying open their mouths. Stress is a huge factor with regards to sickness in reptiles. If they are "healthy, eating well and active" why expose them to the stress of prying open their mouths? Why subject them to a stressor that could lead to a real issue?

I agree with everyone who says it is totally unnecessary to open your snakes mouth..GOOD GRIEF!!!!SMH:colbert::colbert:

However if my snakes were foaming at the mouth I might suspect rabies, in which case I would seek the help of a vet!!:omfg:
