Housing ball pythons together...

I have had a baby Bp for a couple weeks. My sister just got one and is staying the night at my house. Can I keep the two together for one night?

Yes. They'll be fine.

Are they both roughly the same size?

Some what actually hers is quite a bit bigger. They said he was probably 6 months which leads me to believe mine is 3 months

I would think they'd be fine. The only thing I would worry about is if one is significantly bigger...big enough to smoosh the other. When put together in one enclosure they tend to lay together...not in a cuddling way...in a this is the best spot way...for one night they should be fine...

Ok thanks man. It's just for one night I just don't want hers eating my baby. :)

Cannibalism between ball pythons has happened before, but it's extremely rare...

It's a bad idea.

Ball pythons are pack animals and there has to be an alpha ball. They have a complex social hierarchy. When a kill is made, the alpha eats first, then his mate, then the lesser balls feed on the rest.

Never experienced it myself, but a bunch of people on this forum who have also never experienced it told me that it was true.

So it must be.

So follow the advice of us that have a lot of unfounded and baseless opinions and you will do just fine.

They will probably be fine but what would worry me is one having something unknown being they are both new and giving it to the other.

Why did she bring it with her? I take my dog with me but the snakes stay at home.
