I have been talking with Brian from BHB for a couple months now about this banana that stirred so much controversy the other day in a post that did not have to do with his genetics. He's been telling me from the beginning it was a special banana, but not a spider. I persisted because I was ignorant on genetics, that's what I was told when I bought him, and I really wanted him to be special. Turns out no matter how badly you want something to be something, it isn't going to become something else- but really that dorsal had me going for awhile. That and I am very stubborn. I didn't want to believe I drove over an hour away to pick up an animal that was "just" a banana- or that I paid too much, or that people on a forum knew more about my animal than I did. Or that I made a mistake. But here we are. I did all those things.

Brian has been supportive for months because he's known this moment was coming for awhile- he knew I was wrong. I wish I would have listened 3 months ago as opposed to an hour ago but I've never been good with timing. Anyway, I posted this because I know everyone on here thinks I am an idiot now for thinking he was a spider. I don't think I am a complete idiot, but I definitely think I chose to see only what I wanted to see. People do that when they sense they messed up. And I did.

In any case, I am getting most of my money back, but I am not getting all of it back. I love my animal. He's not a spider but he's mine. So I'll cut my losses and see what I can do from here. I don't know if any of you can see the twitter link I posted of the conversation of Brian B. and I, but I linked it just in case. We had a long standing bet on this banana. If 'Nana produced spiders in January he was going to mention 'Nana and I on the show, haha. And if he didn't, I owed him 60 hours of free labor at the BHB warehouse. So when he doesn't produce any spiders, I will be owing him him 60 :l Which will be awesome anyway xD

Sorry to those I offended by appearing stupid or naive or whatever it is I appeared. I won't be calling him a spider from this point onward. He is a banana. More importantly, he is my banana.

Hey don't worry about it. All of us have made a mistakes. The important thing is once you figure it out, not to do it again.

Glad you got a answer from someone you trust. I made mistakes too figuring out morphs while I was learning about all the combos and base morphs. You have a really unique banana and I would be happy to just own one!

Yeah, no kidding. Thank you two for your kind responses. I needed them :)

And bananas are my favorite. Work a payment plan to get one, python if you like them xD
I mean, if you wanted. I think I lot of people offer plans. I pretty much blew everything on this banana because I believed in him. Don't be like me. Lol.

    Nice shots.
I did get some nice looking pictures of him in the sun though today, so I am going to post those to make myself feel better LOL.

I commend you for admitting you where wrong and updating this thread it's more than most would do.
After the original thread most would not admit their mistake, so good for you, it shows you want to be
a valuable member of this community and sometimes we have all had to learn the hard way.
    By the way, pretty banana.

Thanks, that means a lot. It wasn't easy. I want to be a valuable member, but I feel pretty stupid after that post. But I can't help what I didn't know. I really, really believed that he had some spider in him. Oh well. Bananas are just fine to me.

Lol, I love cinnamon. Such a beautiful color contrast. And I could definitely see myself messing that one up, too. Thank you. It was that freaking dorsal that was catching me up. Whenever I started saying, well, he really doesn't look textbook, I would see the dorsal and think webbed pattern- perhaps something more there than a banana. In reality I think this banana has been making me look a little bit crazy since I got him. Little rotten banana from the bunch, really, haha. I love that guy.

Glad you got it sorted out but I don't understand this bit:

    Quote:

@SnakeBytesTV Thank you so much for helping me with him. I was literally humiliated on the forums for saying he was a spider. You were nice
Implying that we weren't so nice on the forums wasn't so nice. Sure you didn't ask for genetics straight out. As far as you know everyone here was ready to let you live in bliss until you opened the can of worms all on your lonesome. Just 25 minutes after starting your mites thread you post a picture and the following:

    Quote:

(Continuing EDIT: No one ever believes he is a banana spider, so I showed him compared to his brother because I know I will get heat :/ Whatever.
I guess I'm just sort of at a loss. You seemed defensive even before anybody suggested there was no spider in your snake. What I saw were people trying to help you, even going so far as offering comparison pictures, in getting the genetics of your animal straightened out. I fail to see where you were treated any way that would make you feel humiliated.

I doubt anybody here thinks you stupid or naive for getting genetics mixed up on a snake - pretty sure MOST of us have done it at one point or another.

Best of luck with your snake and glad Brian could help you where we could not.
