Will Females Breed After Ovulation?

I have a 1800gram female I recently bought. I've been pairing her with my male for the last month and they've locked 3 times now. Will the girl continue to breed after ovulation? Today after I took the male out after they successfully locked I noticed she is in shed. Could this be a pre-lay shed? Or would she refuse him if she had already ovulated?

Mine don't generally lock after ovulation so she is probably still in the building stage.

So they will breed even after ovulation? It's just not that common?

Well I've never seen it happen but do not know for sure it never happens is closer to what I meant. :oops:

Never seen it myself, but my 0.1 Pied has had 2 small rats since 5/18/14 and locked with my Black Pastel Het Pied 3 days ago. Here she was this morning.... done deal :gj:

yes,they will lock after ovulation
not all of them but I had this happened last year, most breeders stop pairing after ovulation

Some people mistake building for ovulation and end up with undesired results. Pair until you're sure of ovulation or you see eggs
