How can you tell if a snake is pregnant?

I am hoping this is not the case as she is young, and I do not even know if she is a she or a he . Im just going with SHE for now. BUT , the snake is a recent rescue and was originally purchased in Petco a few months ago ( date unknown , sex unknown) where they said she was in a tank with a BUNCH of other snakes ( as they usually do :colbert:) . Anyway , I fed her a small rat for the first time Saturday past. She developed what I thought was a huge lump. Now her entire rear from the middle of her body to the tail is super fat , and the tail is puckered and pretty thin in comparison .

The guy I rescued her from said his son ( who bought the snake without permission ) said there were all sizes of BPs in the cage and they were all balled together in a half log. Why are these pet stores allowed to keep animals improperly ?!?!?! Ugh.

Anyway , I can try to post a picture. I downloaded tapatalk .

Forgive me if I am being silly , I know nothing except what I have read here ( this is a wonderful forum ) . She was only 252 grams about 2 weeks ago and I know it is not safe for the to get pregnant too young . Please let me be having an inexperience related worry here :please:

Could be sausage but pic would help. She'll probably take a nice big crap soon and go back to normal

I hope you are right! It is just that she was housed with a bunch all together :/ .Sorry for the bad pic , my cell was too low in battery for flash so I brightened it in photobucket , a ,lot . Her tail is puckered underneath like a dent or dimple.I am hoping I wake up to a poocasso in the enclosure tomorrow !

Phew , I feel better. I maybe need to stop browsing EVERY section in the forum just yet lol So , I should prepare for a massive crap , not a clutch. That is a relief :)

Yeah, huge lump is a rat about to be pooped out. At that size a ball python will not be gravid, kind like a 3 year old human getting gravid.
