Idk why my bp is trying to bite me
He's about a year now & ever since January he's been snapping at me even when he's just eaten. It started when I moved away for two weeks & the BP was with my husband till he brought him to me, & when he got to me he was shedding so I didn't touch him then when he was finished I went to take him out of the cage & he snapped at me & hes been snapping at me ever since, please help! I miss my snake :(

Well after eating they are very defensive, it most likly isnt even a snip but if you let him hit be a "Bump" after hes digested and or shed, just scoop him up 90% of the time once in your hands they are tame as a dog

Did you feed him immediately after he shed before you tried to hold him. If not feed him, give him a couple days before you try to hold him. If he is still snappy make sure your husbandry is spot on, and last but not least, while most ball pythons are very docile, some can be very mean. They are far and few between but not unheard of.

Double check husbandry, and confident handling even after he's snapped at you come to mind.

I'm holding him as I type this & he's staring me down. Should I be scared?

Even if he bites you it isn't going to hurt. He could be stressed from the move. Is anything in his cage or set up different?

Biggest advice with an aggressive bp I can give. Handle confidence, expect to take a bite knowing you'll barely feel it and be completely ok with it. Dont let the strike surpise you as hard as that is.
