HELP: New python owner

I've had my first ball for a little over two weeks now. I got he/she on 5/2 and a week later I tried feeding it but it did not seem interested at all towards the f/t hopper. A day or two later I noticed it's eyes turned blue so I assumed that it did not want to eat since it was going through the shedding process. So I upped the humidity and waited for it to shed. It was rubbing around it's terrarium on 5/15 the next day trying to start the shed and got a little bit of the skin on it's nose peeled, but that was it. So I tried soaking it for 20 min to help and then it just went into it's hide and hasn't come out-- it's been 4-5 days now. It's skin is also wrinkly. I just want it to be okay :confusd: I am wondering if this is normal? Also since it's skin hasn't shed, should I try to feed it? He hasn't eaten since I bought him. Please help! Thank you!

Feed it! i always feed unless in blue. My girl at yesterday and started shedding right away.

the soak should be a last resort when the shed is already going badly and in flakey pieces. The reason for this is they have certain oils on their skin that help them shed when soaked these oils are washed away. At this point you just need to keep the humidty bumped up to around 60-70% untill your bp sheds it's skin. It is possible it will have a bad shed for its first shed, but thats okay it happens just make sure you are providing the proper cage conditions suchs as temps and humidty. as for feeding i offer food to my bps whether in shed or not if they dont eat its still no big deal try again next week.

Just leave it alone, let settle in longer, and up the humidity by adding damp moss or spraying more often. You'll probably want to offer it larger prey items than hoppers; those are usually too small for anything older than a month or so. I really only offer hoppers to hatchlings, after a meal or two, they're ready for regular adult mice.

What are you measuring humidity with?
Offer and make sure you are getting the frozen up to propper temp.
