I'm getting my first baby bp in a few weeks and wondering if this is suitable to use for the bottom of the tank?
Thanks

Re: Exo terra moss mat
I wouldn't use it. Your best options are aspen and cypress mulch in my opinion. Moss stays too moist and could cause scale rot, it's mostly used for tropical reptiles and humid hides.
I'm personally using cypress mulch, it's attractive and keeps the humidity very nicely :)

I use coco husk and it hold humidity very well. If your humidity doesn't stay as high as needed you could add some dampened sphagnum moss, but not entirely for substrate. Just like Kat Dog said, it could cause scale rot and you don't want that! That's an expensive trip to the vet, not to mention what your snake will go through!

I use cypress mulch and it is great for keeping humidity, however might get a bit messy with snake pooping. In this case you should remove not only the "thing" but also quite a bit of the bedding so no possible bacteria or other unwanted stuff stays in the enclosure. Especially when my snake poops in his hide, i tend to change the whole bedding under his hide so that I lower the risk of getting any infections or scale rot.
