does the fur color of the rats make a diffirence. we feed our snakes any color rat the stores give us. as long as the size is right and they look healthy. our snakes never seemed to notice the black rat was black, or that the spotted one wasnt fulll white. i would think that with as bad eye sight as they have, they would not notice the color diffirence. but some people seem to mention that it does. if it does our snakes never noticed..

Some snakes will imprint on a particular type of prey, and that can include refusing albinos or only eating albinos, though those seem to be the most common "color"-preferences. Out of 8 ball pythons I've kept, I've only had one that was especially picky about prey.

Not sure about the color issue but I have never had any problems like that ,but I do have a ball that will only eat mice. She is one picky bp.

i guess we are lucky ours will eat anything.... so far

one time roxy refused to eat a black pinkie but she gobbled up the white one, i have never offered her another black one again so i dont know if she will eat it or rufuse again

My male pastel will eat nothing but dark mice. Preference of darker prey items is more common, as I guess an albino would be rather unnatural looking. Most of my bp's however feed perfectly fine on albino lab rats.
