Security for rubbermaid container for snake
I followed this tutorial (http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...my-Ball-Python) for making my own set up; don't get me wrong I think this set up is awesome but the only form of security is a clasp at each end and the corners and sides can be pushed up. My ball python escaped and I found her and put her back (that was this morning) and she hasn't escaped since then but I put some heavy books on each corner

This is not very convenient as I have to remove each book if I want to open the cage; is there any other way of locking this container?

    Thanks

I use the hefty containers and I have not had any issues with them. I understand how the use of books would get old soon. Try the hefty brand like I mentioned. They may work better for you.

Am I the only one that uses luggage straps? For tubs that top isn't moving an inch with straps on there.

I did when Epic was in his qt tub. And no, they don't. But binder clips are so much easier...

You can find the hefty containers at lowes. They have several sizes and they are more sturdy than the other brands.

Heavy duty velcro. Put some on the lid in the middle, so that you basically have a strap on each side. You can put more on wherever you if you feel the need, but I haven't needed more than the strip in each side. Wish I had a picture.
