    Saw my first spider
I was in Petco with my friend the other day, just killing time before going to a bbq and we both went over to see the reptiles. I was mostly focused on the adorable Red tailed boa but then I here her laugh and say 'fancy ball python' I was confused at first then she pointed at the pastel, I found that pretty cool cause i'm so used to how dark my BP is, being a normal. But then We saw the spider and he was beautiful. So tiny too. He was $199. And had the lightest prettiest blue eyes i've EVER seen. I didn't think spiders had blue eyes. I've never seen any other morph beside normal in person. But he was amazing. I asked to hold him but they said the snakes were jut fed the day before so I couldn't. The worked did ask if I wanted to buy him. He'd been there for 2 months already and she'd give me a 30% discount. Unfortunately I only had 4 dollars in my wallet and I don't get paid till the 22nd. I just got a job and this will be my first ever pay check. I'm kind of on the fence about getting him. i reaaalllly want to but I already have a normal BP and a 3 year old iguana plus a cat living in my tiny room in my moms house. I don't know if I could afford to keep him. But i so want to. I've been wanting to get into breeding too and I think he'd make a good partner for my normal when he'd old enough but I dunno. What do you guys think? I'm thinking to convince my mom maybe a 'congrats on finally getting a job' reward to myself XD I'm so sad I didn't have my phone at the time or I would've taken a picture of him.

Also Is it normal for my girl to suddenly have stopped eating rats and now all she'll eat is mice? I give her one mouse every ten days but should I give her more?

$200 is way to much for a spider especially with a high chance of it being a male. You can get a nice spider for about half that price if you look around

If your current snake is 2 1/2 years old and you're only feeding her one mouse every 10 days, that is not nearly enough food. Make sure to doublecheck your cage conditions and make sure she's got everything she needs; she may not feel secure enough, warm enough, humid enough, and is getting picky about her food as a result.

Even if she is only taking mice, a 2.5 year old snake needs more than what you are offering as food. If she's just a mouse eater, at least 2 or 3 should be offered weekly, more if she'll take them and/or if you plan on trying to breed her.

As far as the spider - my first advice is to focus on the snake you have to ensure she's properly cared for, then to see if you have enough money to get a proper set up for a new snake. From there, the price of whatever snake you decide you want is your call to make.

I agree that $200 is too much, as are all pet store prices. Look around you can get one much cheaper

Yea check out some local breeders, and even ask around here to find out if people know someone in your area. Pet stores heavily overcharge

I understand how you feel but Jen is right.I wanted another morph to,but I realized it would be best to make sure I had everything I needed first, the money to get exactly what I wanted the first time with no issues.I have some awesome ones now, normals, and I enjoy them very much and see no reason to stretch my or their resources thin.If you still want him after some time and saved money go for it.Its only my opinion,I am no expert but its working for me.
