Tub in a cage for a weekend?

So I got a new guy coming in the mail in the next half hour or so.

Unfortunately, I underestimated the time it's taking the silicone to cure on the AP cage I set up for him, and his enclosure won't be ready today.

I've got some furniture coming in tomorrow or the next day that will help me arrange my apartment the way I ultimately want with his new cage, and so it might make sense for me to wait a couple of days to really get him set up.

QUESTION:

Can I keep him in a standard plastic tub in one of my AP cages over the weekend?

I realize this wouldn't give him the full heat gradient, but I figured I'd put it more or less in the middle slightly nearer to the warm side. There's a larger female in the actual cage, but he'd be kept separate in his tub. I figure this way he'll have more or less the temperatures and humidity I'd want, probably better than I could do with a temporary tub setup on its own for the same time.

Will he get enough air flow? Of course there are a lot of holes drilled in the top of the tub, but would being inside a cage in addition to this cause an issue?

The only issue I see with this is your not going to quarantine the new animal? You said your sticking his tub in the same enclosure of a animal you already own.

Doesn't matter where it comes from, qt is really not an option. Unless you want to risk the health of your entire collection.

I mean I generally do, I keep fish and turtles as well.

But I was going to put it in a cage with another animal I got from RDR about a year ago, and considering the breeder and the expense/morph (which I realize doesn't guarantee anything, but certainly implies a level of seriousness/commitment) I thought there wouldn't really be any risk of anything.

The animal currently in the cage is healthy, and is the one I eventually hope to breed him to.

Seems like the consensus is that I shouldn't do this though, and I guess I'll have to go to petco and get a heat pad before I go opening the package (that's here now, btw).

EDIT addt question: Could I use the flexwatt heat tape that comes with my AP cage to heat a much smaller tub? It wouldn't melt it or anything if I hooked it up to a thermostat, right? It's way more than would be needed but I haven't hooked it up to the cage yet and this could save me a little cash and effort till I do.

Tub size doesn't matter. As long as the temp is controlled by your thermostat it's fine.
