Possible scale rot in retic?
Hi i got my new retic yesterday:)! A lovely Sumatran male, But he has a little orange tinge on the sides of his belly. Now then is this possible scale rot, I'm going to try and take some photos of him either today or tomorrow. But have the retic keepers on here experienced anything like this coloration in Sumatrans and scale rot in retics?

Scale rot will show more like a blister or black patch with noticeable hardness to the scale. If you are worried and have some provine iodine, give him a bath (at 82-84 degrees F) with some betadine (provine iodine 10%) mixed in. This will help clean any possible wounds of infections that may arise.
Also, again, scale rot is generally seen on the bottom ventral scales, and not normally on the sides. Keep him on paper towels, so you can spot and clean unrine much quicker!
Thanks. That's exactly what his belly patterning is. I'll get photos up in the next few days, Trying to get him settled in.
