Is this OK???

I have had my BP (Nagini) for roughly 3 weeks now. Each week she as eaten a live mouse with no issues and she is also about to go through her first shed with me. The humidity is kept anywhere from 50-60% off shed, and now 60-70% on shed.

What I am having issues with is heating. The cool side is around 83 and the hot side is 86. I would have the hot side hotter but no matter what i do the cool side warms up with the hot side, so i cannot by a higher wattage bulb. My guess is that this is because my tank is tall rather than long (30L x 18H x 12W). My question is, is it ok if the hot side is 86 if there is a heat pad underneath that side at around 88 degrees? And therefor is it ok for the cool side to be 83 with no heat pad? Will my BP be happy and healthy with the current conditions?

Tips are welcome too.

Your heat pad temp is good. You could actually lower your ambient temps some. The hot side would be good if it were around 82-84 degrees and the cool side around 75-77.

I think it depends how you're measuring. Don't let the cool side go below 75F day or night (can cause RIs with the proper humidity like you have); generally speaking the cool side ambient should be about 80F and the hot spot around 90F. My ambients are the same throughout, because I have a PVC enclosure, but typically the warm side ambients will be slightly warmer than the cool side. I think your temps sound okay; sure they could be "better" but nothing to fret about in my opinion. They naturally fluctuate with the temperature in your home as well.
