    UTHs for Tub tanks
I was just wondering about what UTHs are recommended for tub tanks. I have a Rubbermaid Roughneck (95 qts), and I bought a Reptitherm UTH (10 - 20gal) and on the instruction flier inside, it said no plastic cages. (Actually has quiet a few "no ___ cages"...)

I was wondering if this is something I should really be concerned with or if I should just return it and get something different. I appreciate any advice. Thanks. c:

The first thing you will need to buy is a thermostat.
You can run and mat under a tub as long as it is regulated.

x2 You don't want to use an unregulated UTH on a tub, it could damage the plastic and harm the snake. Use a thermostat to control the temps and it should be smooth sailing!

For short term use I have used a UTH unregulated on a 10 gallon tank.

I generally only do this for QT's and I place a 6qt locking tub inside the 10 gallon tank with a few layers of newspaper in the 6qt tub. Temps generally run in the low 90's in the tub. Only place about half the tub over the UTH. Not ideal, but works short term.

If you already have the mat then all you need to do is buy a thermostat to regulate it................... http://www.reptilebasics.com/thermostats
