I am just full of questions today. How long can rats be kept frozen before I need to trash them? I am planning on going out next week, buying some dry ice, about 10 rats, and doing them all in at the same time, to be frozen that day. How much dry ice would I need for that? :?

Well, I am glad that I am not the only one that doesn't know. Hopefully someone can enlighten us about that and the time frozen rats can be stored.

as far as i know frozen rats can be stored indefinitely (months, years) as long as they are in air tight freezer bags and the temperature of the freezer remains fairly consistent. not sure about the dry ice though, but i'm sure someone will come along with an answer for you on that.

On the dry ice thing I would think about two to three pounds would be more than enough, put all the rats in there at the same time. Because 10 will exhale more co2 as they breath out to help add to the dry ice effect. It would be kinda like putting them in a zip lock bag and leaving them to slowly go to sleep.
