    Can I skip quarantine?
Like the title says can i skip quarantine? Can you take a snake to the vet to check if its healthy?

Can you? Sure you can if you like to take risks and possibly jeopardizing your animal's health.

Should you? NO, nothing replace proper quarantine not even a vet exam.

My first thought is "why?". Why would you want to go to the trouble of taking a snake to the vet, spending a bunch of money - presumably on tests, but I could be wrong - when you could otherwise keep it in quarantine for 3-6 months instead?

Otherwise I don't have a solid answer for you :P I just know that I wouldn't, because I don't want to go to all that trouble and expense personally.

i dont know the costs of the exams. I was asking because if i get and adult female I could breed her as soon as i get her instead of 3 months later. But if the tests are not 100% then i will stick to regular quarantine.

The tests to ensure that a snake is healthy will be rather expensive and invasive. You're looking at a fecal exam, lung wash, standard blood draw, the blood tests for IBD are recommended 90 days apart in case of a false negative on the first one, etc... or you can just QT. I know which is easier on my pocketbook.

She could still breed 3 months or even 6 months from now.

For me it's more important that they settle in, feeding, gaining weight, making sure their sheds and the poops look normal.

Besides she may not breed right away. I have tried pairing my white diamond and russo twice each time two months apart and nothing. Somebody just is not ready in that pair. They are both older than my gargoyle and bee who did lock. From what I read patience is key. I just concentrate on feeding, husbandry and I really enjoy checking them over after a shed.

I just received a snake this am. After checking her and weighing her she went right into quarantine like the other 8 did before her.

You could, the tests still don't guarantee a clean bill of health.
My question is: What are your other animals worth to you? :confusd:

If your reasoning is to breed her asap keep in mind that it is extremely likely she will not even breed this year at all and maybe even next year as well. It takes at least a year fir an adult female to settle in and want to breed... Just qt her and be smart about it instead of trying to rush everything only to find out later the vet check you had was not as complete as you thought and now your entire collection is dead.
