    Need help asap!!
Our male pastel was like..spitting/drooling a clear liquid today when we had him out to change his bedding. It just started, and he seems completely fine. Nothing has changed husbandry wise since we got him and it should be perfect..
From what i know about RI he doesnt show signs..no mucus bubbles, no open mouth breathing.. just my girlfriend noticed he was drooling/spitting liquid and a lot of it.. [It really just looks like i would spit on the ground.]

He has been showing signs of shedding since yesterday (fading scales, pink tummy, fading eyes, the usual) and he is acting completely normal. any ideas???

FREAKING OUT. Don't want him to be sick, no reptile vet remotely near by. plan on taking him to one of the pet store managers we know fairly well that has been breeding for years.

    How much is a lot?

I have had my snake kind of 'spit up' water when he'd just taken a big drink and I picked him up to move him - but if it's an ongoing thing, it's a problem.

well it was a bit because he spit up on my girlfriend in what seemed small amounts, and then in 2 big drops on the floor.. Probably about 2 regular human spits in total. In his tank now, hasn't spit up since. But watching him.
He seems completely fine too. :s

I'm not an expert. You should definitely keep an eye on him. RI is possible. Get him checked out when you can.

But the same reason you don't handle snakes after feeding applies and they can lose water the same way, and they can drink a lot.

    So don't panic, either.

Yeah, taking him tomorrow to the best people we got tomorrow. I don't feel like it is RI, but that water thing is completely possible... His nose is fine, not open mouth breathing, etc.

Trying not to worry too bad, although still sucks :(

How long did you have him out? I've heard of snakes "drooling" when stressed.

Sounds more like what CptJack mentioned. I've heard of it before but have never pesonally seen it...

I only saw it once, and to be honest it thoroughly freaked me out. It was shortly after we got Atlas, though, so I'm assuming stress + handling + belly full of water = water regurg. It was months ago now and nothing ever came of it and it hasn't repeated.

Again, though: We can't see your snake, and I'm sure as heck not giving a dx online.
