Need help..Is this a black pastel?

Doesn't look like the black pastel i saw in wobp...but i'm not quite familiar with black pastel.

No not a black pastel....looks like a nice normal. Here is my black pastel, but his markings are more scattered because he's het pied:

Even if he's not black pastel he's skinny, poor guy.

He was in an import group from togo...his color kinda look like black pastel and the belly was clean,but the pattern didn't look like one.so i ask for your trained eyes opinion :)

Hanz--looks like he has partial black back so that's always a plus though. I keep hearing people importing ball pythons in groups and getting a bunch of different morphs, what's the scoop on that?

He actually has a pretty wicked black back. That can be really useful in breeding. My cinnamon female for example, is almost completely blackback/blushback. It is a very desirable trait in any number of morphs and combos. And while it may not be exactly genetic, more like selective breeding, it's still cool.
