Egg Windows/dimpling

So I've got these gray spots in some of my eggs. They look like wet spots but they are not wet. I don't have any water dripping on them that I've seen. Is this something I should worry about? I've read about people putting glue on these spots. Is this nessecary?

Also, I'm only 4 days into incubation and I have some slight dimpling going on. I believe my humidity is as high as humanly possible..... My digital hygrometer is reading 99 but my cheap stick on one is reading 80. I tend to believe the digital one just because the egg box and incubator are bother sweating like crazy. I'm using Hatchrite with light diffuser as substrate.

It is likely no issue, but pics would help. I've had some ugly eggs that had absolutely no problems. In fact, they molded and had windows, and dimpled weird, etc... Sometimes they just do weirdness.

If the egg box is already sweating a lot (it being only day 4), there might be too much of a temperature swing/fluctuation in your incubator. Sweating tends to happen when there's larger differences in temperatures (when cold meets warm).

The incubator is holding at a very steady temp according to my Herpstat. However, I have been opening the incubator daily to check the eggs so the Temps change then. Also, the room the Bator is in is very cool (the 60s). Could this be the issue?

No worries. I've had a few of these 'windows' on an egg or two before and they have always hatched. Nothing special needed... just business as usual like a normal egg. They are pretty cool later on in incubation because you can sometimes see in the egg. :gj:

I put elmers on the windows because someone very experienced told me to. And I have had ugly eggs that had me nervous do well. I wouldnt be opening the incubator to check the eggs every day candle after about a week and then check them once a week but you really shouldnt mess with them much as tempting as it is. You will get more condensation toward the end of incubation thats when I remove press and seal.

Just to clarify.... Should my egg boxes not be sweating this early in? I'm at kind of a catch 22 because my egg boxes are sweating because I check on them too often, but the reason I check on them so often is because the boxes are sweating and I'm concerned water could be dripping on the eggs. Should I kind of start fresh by wiping the boxes down and then leaving them alone for a week?

Glad to see that the "windows" are not a problem because one of my "good" eggs has one of those on top of it and I was a little worried and about to ask about it.

Put something under one end of your egg box to give it a bit of height but not enough to cause the eggs to roll, obviously. Any condensation will run down the lid rather than on the eggs! :)

The best thing is to resist temptation and leave them alone. Once you candle them and they are viable don't mess with them until you get closer to hatch time.
