Last year, I bred a male Firefly het VPI Axanthic back to his VPI Axanthic mother. One of the snakes that hatched out was full of contrast and I was just sure that she was an Axanthic Firefly. Here's a poor quality cell phone photo of her just after she hatched:

The "Firefly" label kind of just stuck with her, and I didn't really give it a second thought. After posting some updated photos of her on Facebook, though. John Dague (the Axanthic king!) mentioned that he didn't think there was any pastel in this girl at all. After I looked her over again, I realized that he was right. This is JUST an Axanthic Fire, but probably the nicest one I've ever seen.

I did also hatch out another snake from this clutch that I'm sure is an Axanthic Firefly. She's been pretty challenging to get eating on her own, though, and I've been waiting to get her more established before I drag her out of her tub for photos.
