    Heater suggestions
First of all I would like to say hello to everyone and am glad to be a part of this community, I've been browsing around as a guest for quite a while now! Anyway I just got and set up a rack but I'm having trouble keeping the ambient temps up.

So my question is I'm looking for a space heater and would love for you all to suggest some models you've used that have worked well or ones you know work good. Links or just the name would be awesome :) thanks!

Thank you for your help!.... Anyone else?

Also another question, is there anything I can use to control the heater I get? I was looking at the Ranco
111000 ETC but am getting confused by it saying I have to wire it myself or some come wired or something but are different prices on every site I look at :(. It's pretty frustrating.

The cheapest I've found the ranco is 45 but it's for the basic unit only. No prewiring option, wiring it is not hard, look it up on YouTube for instructions.

do the wires come with it, you just have to do it yourself? or do you have to buy the cords separately?

I've always bought the cords separately, this gives you the benefit of tailoring it to your specific application. IE wiring in a multiplug, vs a single plug.

Do you mean ambient temp in the room, or inside the rack? Are you using heat tape with the racks?

I assume temp in the room...come to the dark side...heat a room dont bother with hotspots and what nots.

I use two of those knock off Mennonite ceramic heater fireplace things. One is on the floor another mounted on a shelf so it is close to the ceiling. Those two and a big fan at the other side of the room keep the temp pretty even floor to ceiling. 86 and no hotspots and somehow my snakes are doing just fine ;D

I am one of the few that can say I was born to the dark side. Can honestly say I have never owned a piece of heat tape that was not in an incubator.
